Technology and (TEKS)

     Technology plays a resourceful part in planning lessons. The (TEKS) 116.55, is a knowledge and skills TEKS. The individual aspects of sport offer numerous ways to intergrate technology into lesson plans. It's hard to do anything without the use of technology in today's society. Teachers need this edge in instructional objectives . Students are so advanced in technology. There is only a small amount of training required for kids today . They are using cell phones, computers , and video games at such an early age, that teaching them about educational technology comes second nature. The standards set the bar even higher for students. There is so much to kearn about technology that physical education will benefit from the integrationof it.

Podcasting

     Podcasting is very interesting feature in technology. I learned a lot of new information about it. I didn't know that downloading a movie or some broadcast from a computer or television was possible. That keeps a person from missing out on a particular event. This could be really useful in the classroom. Teachers could record events from home and bring them into the classroom for teaching purposes. Teachers use videos and audios for education in todays classrooms. The microphone is another form of recording that is useful. Recording a lecture is very convenient and resourceful. When I was in school, we used projectors that had reels of film to show the images from. All it take now is for a small ipod or mp3 to record the information on, and bring it or take it anywhere you want to. I think the classroom would benefit greatly from the use of the these devices to teach and inform their students.
     Podcasting is different from from web 2.0 applications as well as similar. The wiki feature is good for communication and setting up group e-mails. The ability to transmit a message and put it where you want it is a special feature. Social bookmarking is a feature that enables the user to save address for future usage and storage. While researching a project, this feature would really come in handy. This feature would also provide a quick reference tool. Voicethreading would be the most similar to the podcasting feature. The ability to record the audio and put it where you want it is an amazing feature.The voicethread would be utilized more by a teacher. The student would use the wiki and the social bookmarking in the classroom. I think the teacher would use the voicethread for lectures and general information. Podcasting is definitely similar to web 2.0 but also different.
     I own a mp3 player and I really enjoy it. I use it mainly for listening to music that is already downloaded to the device. I'm really not familiar with it enough to do very much more. It was given to me as a gift without instructions on how to take advantage of its features. This assignment is filling me in on some features I didn't know existed. I would definitely use it in my classroom. I see different ways of benefiting my lesson plan and the students interpreting what I'm trying to convey to them. It really has everything a teacher needs to assist them in teaching . It has the audio features, the video features ,and the broadcasting features. With all Of those features, teaching would be more convenient. This educational technology class is what every teacher needs to be more efficient, present and future teachers.    

Blog about Wiki

Wiki is a concept in the educational technology era that would be considered a phenomenon. The process of editing and processing comments are great for teachers and students. Bookmarking and voicethreading are also convenient forms of processing information. This whole concept is just another example on how far we have advanced in this educational technology era. Wikipedia is already one of the most successful resource webs in the business. The voicethread is unique in it own way of moving images, audios, and slides from one location to another. Saving important websites is also important. Bookmarking as distinquished themselves from a feature like "favorites". Protecting your work from people is also important. Creating PDF files are also a good idea because it prevents bloggers from interfering with information that doesn't belong to them. It doesn't make the info tamperproof, but it makes it harder for the next person to retrieve the PDF file in order to tamper with the information.

Copyright, Fair Use & Online Safety

I have learned a lot about copyright. The laws and regulations protect the originator of the product from people taking advantage of your product. The music, book, and movie industries and the need protection from the rest of the world duplicating their work. It is also fascinating how the copyright is protected for fifty year after a person is deceased. There are laws that protect everything in the world today and copyright is one of the best ideas yet. In the future I will definitely use the copyright on all of the things I want to protect. The youtube website is very informative to everyone about the copyright benefits. It is important for all publishers to know about this wonderful process. The year of the copyright and who is the publisher is vital information.The copyright and fair use for students is great for educators to teach the student how to protect themselves for cyber invasions.

I feel like this another phenomenon in technology. Not only can you research this very important information, but you can inform youself on how to protect you vested interest from people duplicating you creations. Laws and right governing us in society and the business world is not only a benefit ,but it is mandatory. Can you imagine not having any laws? This would be a terrible place to be. There has been many lawsuits over individual duplicating music every since the early 1900's. The copyright protections allows repercussion to the violators that abuses someone in the publishing business.

Mapping Activity (week-4 assignment)

     I didn't know about mapping the website before this activity. The search engines are vital to the research process. I started using the computer in my freshman year. I didn't know anthing about computers then. My research process began with following instructions up to this point. Wikipedia was a major source of search engines for me. I don't know how credible they are, but they are an informative resource. It really depends on the category or level of information that is needed before you know which search engine you need. Needless to say, I'm a rookie at computers and I didn't know anything about this mapping process.
     I will be able to utilize this information on mapping in the future. Education technology is helpful as I continue as a student. My teachers are using this form of education to the full extent. If I intend to receive all of the information and lesson that are being conveyed, I have to beware of how the technology works. I plan to use this technology as a teacher, also. I want my students to get the full benefit of what mapping and the whole computer technology has to offer. Students are familiar with the fundamentals of computers. When they are taught how to explore through the efficient benefits  
of what the technology of computers have to offer, using the computer for what they need will be awesome.
     In conclusion, mapping is really resourceful. The amount of references, contacts made, and the history of the website is needed information. It gives a good reference on the site. Before you put too much trust in anything, it helps to know a little bit about it. Students are majoring in different subjects tha require a lot of detailed information, and mapping will give a student what the instructor is looking for.

     My name is Marcus Bills and I'm from Paris, tx. I didn't become familiar with the computer until my freshman year in college at Paris Junior College. Now I am a 45 year old senior and a little bit better at it. Children are more familiar with computers these days because of video games. When I was young we didn't play video games, we played football and basketball practically everyday. I also rode horses and motorcycles quite a bit. My parents wouldn't let me sit around the house on weekends and summer vacations, they made me get out of the house and be active to some degree. When I graduated from high school in 1966, I moved to Dallas,Tx. I got a job at Sewell Village Cadillac as a service porter. Eventually, I was promoted to selling used and new cars. After 8 years, I started a family and started working for Kimberly-Clark Inc., in Paris. I had a disabling motorcycle accident. That is what brought me back to college.
     Communication is very important. Technology has brought us Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, E-mail, as well as Blogging. With all of this communication, the postal service will end up out of business. The world is evolving very fast. Technology will be a new phenomenon for me in this in class room. The computer era is still fairly new for me and I plan to learn all that it has to offer. Our instructor is very helpful and knowledgeable. That is the biggest asset this class has to offer. As future teachers, technology will help shape and mold this new generation of students.
     My goal is to gather as much information as I can in this classroom. I also plan to observe the detail that comes with the technology of computers. I didn't know what to expect from this class, but now I see how informative this class will be. So to all of the future teachers in this class, take advantage of this opportunity to advance and to learn about technology. I plan to !!
